Micropay v14.4 Update for Local Property Tax (LPT) - 19/06/2013
Please be advised that an important update has been released for Micropay to enable the deduction of the local property tax for employees that have opted to have it deducted from their payroll.
This update will bring your version of the payroll to v14.4 and will create a new deduction called LPT on the next available line in your deduction list. This new deduction is NOT AMENDABLE.
The only way to update the values for deduction is through an import of the P2C file from ROS (Tax Credit Import).
Please note that if you have already ran a P2C import that contained information about LPT deductions for employees, you will need to run that import again after you have updated to v14.4.
Running The Update:
This update can be downloaded from within the payroll by going to the Help Menu (above the button with the “?”) and selecting “Check for Updates”. If this option is not listed, just close out of the payroll completely and then log back in. The option should now be there.
When you are installing you will be asked to pick a type of installation. If the payroll is only accessible on the one PC pick the “Standalone” option. If the payroll is accessible on more than one PC pick “Server”. If you pick “Server”, when you log into the payroll for the first time on any PC after running the update you will be prompted to run an update. Make sure you click YES to run the update and pick “Typical” for the type of installation. This will run the “Client” install on the PC.
If you have any questions about the installation, or if you are unsure of what option to pick, please contact us for advice.
As always, take a backup of all your payrolls prior to running any updates. We highly recommend running the update while at START OF PERIOD only.

Micropay v14.3 Update for SEPA Readiness - 25/04/2013
Sage have just release the latest version of Micropay (v14.3) which has been issued to prepare for the changeover to the SEPA standard for online bank transfers.
This update will allow the payroll to automatically generate IBAN and BIC codes from your employee's bank sort codes and account numbers. A SEPA readiness report is now also available from the payroll reports section.
The SEPA changeover is due to take place on the 1st of February 2014. More information about SEPA can be found here: IPSO Website
Other changes in v14.3 include a new report called "Cost by Employee" which can be found in Payroll Reports. This report gives a breakdown of costs by employee per Dept/Cost Centre, for the current period.
Also, the payment types "Disability" and "Paid Disability" have been renamed to "Illness Benefit" and "Paid Ill Ben".
This update can be downloaded from within the payroll by going to the Help Menu (above the button with the "?") and selecting "Check for Updates". If this option is not listed, just close out of the payroll completely and then log back in. The option should now be there.
As always, take a backup of all your payrolls prior to running any updates. We highly recommend running the update while at START OF PERIOD only.

Micropay v13.6/v14.1 Update for Budget 2013 - 20/12/2012
The budget update for 2013 has been released for Sage Micropay and should be run as soon as possible.
If your 2012 payroll is on version 13.6 & your 2013 payroll is on v14.1 then you are fully up to date. Information on how to run the update is outlined again below.
The Budget Update can be downloaded and installed by logging into your payroll (2012 or 2013) and going to the Help Menu and selecting “Check for Updates”. Full information on this can be found in the payroll year end user guide. It is recommended that you print these out to help with the year end process.
Please Note:
***IMPORTANT***
Due to an issue with the clear down process when setting up your 2013 payroll, it is very important that you run your P2C (ROS Tax Credits) import into your 2013 payroll prior to processing your first payroll of 2013. Any new starters in 2012 who are not contained in the P2C import for 2013 need to have the details in the PAY / YTD tab checked in the Employee Details - specifically the P45 figures for Gross Income and USC. These figures may have carried forward from 2012 and will need to be deleted prior to processing your first payroll in 2013.
